Forecasting Report

Riccardo Tisci definitely continues to make use of his own aesthetics, that is the dark romance in Goth. Usually portraited by the achromatic colour scheme - BLACK + WHITE + GREY and others alike. In fact, Tisci had once mentioned that he likes black and white very much. So, there are not many reasons for him to change his taste.

Then I found this picture of Gothic Church from National Geographic. This is the church that French builders of the 1100s first dared to fashion heaven's image in soaring cathedrals of stone. Entrances were through portals worthy of paradise, and the sanctuary was charged with light pressed through glass tapestries radiant with faith.

The Gothic building boom reflected an era of growing power for the monarchy, the cities, and the bourgeoisie, and the cathedrals expressed civic pride fully as much as ecclesiastical glory.

From the colour analysis of the picture, we can see there are colours of blue and green shades. which are in analogic colour scheme as well as some natural colour. Blue and Green are generally accepted by people in all countries. In addition, blue and green indeed add some 'colours' to the darkness of Gothic scene. At that time, it is considered to be edgy. The coming season S/S 2010 Tisci may try to use them in his collection as something new while blue and green are hits for spring and summer.

You can see that, apart from analogic, there are also monochromatic and triads in these colours.

In fact, we could see the forecasting report from stylesight.com, there are also some dark shades of blue and green. Apart from that, there are violets and reds.

Some earth tones can add some relatively exciting and contrasting elements for the greens.
Greens make people feel comfortable and it reminds the modern people nature.
Tisci likes to use elements from Church, especially Gothic Church and Romanticism. Therefore, it is likely to use black, white and earth tones. They will probably dominate the coming collection.
This is the colour family I have forecasted. Beside some basics for Givenchy, there are brown and green in the family.

Streetsnaps

Studded items can be seen anywhere.
Also, dimensional clothing is coming on the horizon,
like pleated / draped skirts, tees encrusted with crystals and jewels.

DIY and patchwork are popular as well.
At last, I have seen many boys and girls wearing Fedoras in the streets.
I think it is in fact the trend now

Pink is the New Black

Unlike what Riccardo usually did in the past, in which the choice/use of black and white has dominated his previous collections, this time he aimed to show masculinity in SS09 menswear by using shocking pink. Tisci showed us how the colour itself does not have sexuality. people do.

Dear Riccardo, My Teen Angst has a Body Count

Before signing on at Givenchy in 2005, Riccardo Tisci was a relative unknown in the fashion world. He was a Central Saint Martins graduate with a stint at Antonio Berardi on his résumé—and not much else. Clearly, his appointment was a gamble for LVMH, Givenchy's parent company.
Born in Taranto, Italy, in 1974, Tisci showed his very first collection, under his own name, in Milan in the fall of 2004. Within a year, he made quite a leap, to the Fall 2005 Haute Couture collection he created for Givenchy. Critics said his debut was not bad, but they didn't lay any laurels at his feet, either. To the relief of editors (and, most likely, Bernard Arnault, LVMH's chieftain), Tisci began—after a slowish start—to move away from his early high-concept presentations and to turn to a traditional runway format. Audiences began to give his clothes their full attention. And the young Italian has delivered a certain graphic strength. If Audrey Hepburn, with her rake-slim and unfussy femininity, was the poster child for Hubert de Givenchy back in the day, modern waifs are finding themselves drawn to Tisci's darkly romantic, slightly melancholic designs. In 2008, Tisci's duties were expanded to encompass Givenchy's menswear line, too, putting him in charge of design for the entire brand. The powers that be clearly see good things on the horizon.

Regarding Riccardo

Riccardo is the creative director of Givenchy, was given carte blanche to curate the current issue of A magazine. what he did was invite his friends to reflect upon This got varying results - from a portrait of vogue paris' Carine Roitfeld to a touching commentary by italy's fashion icon, Anna Piaggi. Piaggi spoke of received grace and how Tisci uses the medium of fashion as a pretext for free poetry. Another interesting one was written by Oliver Wicker, editor-in-chief of Liberation Next. Wicker imagines that one day Tisci will receive a call from a director, perhaps from the notably dark and mysterious david cronenberg or david lynch. the imaged call will be a proposal that the designer dress a film somewhat like Luis Bunuel's Viridiana, which won him the palm d'Or at the 1961 Cannes film festival. Other contributors include friends, artists and people that Tisci admires, such as Courtney Love, Christina Ricci, Emmanuelle Seigner, Maggie Cheung, Ruben Toledo, Antony Hegart, Amanda Lear, Joana Preiss, Beatrice Dalle and Mario Sorrenti. The issue also features photographs of Tisci's mother and eight sisters.

Muse

The gods smiled on Hubert de Givenchy when they blessed him with Audrey Hepburn as a close friend and muse. In the 1950's and 60's, when Hepburn was at the height of her powers—defining chic for a world of admiring women—Givenchy dressed her both on- and offscreen. And in a marketing move that has stood the test of time, he featured his gorgeous pal in his perfume ads, too. The talented Givenchy was lucky that way: First Lady Jackie Kennedy also was photographed often in his trim coats with cropped sleeves and his slim, judiciously unadorned L.B.D.s.

Gothic Gypsy Madonna

Madonna has asked Givenchy to design outfits for her world tour.
The French fashion house has confirmed its head designer Ricardo Tisci would be creating Madonna's wardrobe for her 'Sticky and Sweet' shows. Givenchy spokeswoman Caroline Deroche-Pasquier revealed Givenchy Haute Couture has made the pop superstar two outfits.
It is believed Madonna will wear one of the Givenchy ensembles when she opens the show. Tisci, who is renowned for his gothic influence and use of dark fabrics, is delighted to be working with Madonna.
He said: "I feel incredibly fortunate to have been given the opportunity to offer the world of Givenchy Haute Couture to Madonna the Icon, the Artist, the Woman for whom I have so much respect and admiration."
The first outfit - said to have a 'Gangster Pimp' influence - features a black satin coat trimmed with jet beads and a black satin waistcoat with a corseted back.
Tisci's second creation - which has a 'Gypsy' theme - consists of a long hooded taffeta cape with a fuchsia lining and a black dress with multi-coloured ribbons and pink metal chains. It is not yet known if other designers will be dressing the '4 Minutes' singer during her tour.
